Problem Space
Our project centered around the task of building a responsive website experience to support, expand, or enabling grassroots efforts within a local community context. Employing a participatory design method, our team effectively created a web experience specifically tailored to enhance the meal-ordering process for sororities utilizing the services of their in-house chef. Through thoughtful design and collaboration, our project aimed to contribute to a more streamlined and efficient experience for these community-based initiatives.

Investigation
1.) Paper sign-up for late plates
                 - Inaccessible outside the house
                       - Doesn’t work with a busy schedule
2.) Menu sent through Groupme
- Lots of scrolling
       - Takes a long time to find

Activities
In our collaborative design process, our aim was to engage with the Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) sisters to develop a tailored solution that precisely met their requirements. To achieve this, we organized three key activities: a group sketch, an affinity diagram, and a survey. These activities provided valuable insights into the preferences of the KKG sisters regarding their digital experience and offered a visual representation of their envisioned website. Following the completion of our codesign efforts, we seamlessly integrated our sketches with those generated by the girls, resulting in a final design that incorporated the collective input. Subsequently, we transitioned to the coding phase, translating the collaborative design vision into a functional digital solution.

Final Design
For both desktop and mobile versions, all elements were incorporated uniformly, with variations only in the proportions and layout to suit each device's specifications. The decision to implement a calendar format for meal scheduling stemmed from insights gathered during the codesign process. In response to the inefficiency reported by the girls, who relied on a weekly meal list shared in their house group chat, we designed a calendar layout presenting all meals for the day, encompassing both lunch and dinner. This allows girls to easily access meal details, including descriptions and dietary restrictions. The platform enables users to provide feedback through meal reviews or request a late plate, with a confirmation page for the latter, offering options for additional notes or recurring requests. Girls can also proactively request meals for the upcoming week, fostering a more direct connection with the chef. Lastly, a personalized profile page allows girls to upload a photo, share a description, and specify any dietary restrictions visible to the chef and kitchen staff.
